Wiz Khalifa’s new song “Stranger Things” samples the haunting ’80s-inspired Stranger Things theme song.

It was only a matter of time before the Stranger Things intro, dreamed up by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of the Austin instrumental synth-rock band S U R V I V E, was transformed into something else. Cue Wiz Khalifa, who teamed rapper J.R. Donato for their song “Stranger Things.” The synthy-electro ’80s-inspired retro track guides Wiz and Donato down a dreamy path towards the unfamiliar. “It’s like I’m talking to a stranger,” Wiz raps. “Now everybody’s getting stranger.” Listen:
