Let’s get it re-started.

Will.i.am has confirmed that the Black Eyed Peas will reunite and remarked that they should never have split up in the first place.

In an interview on British radio station Capital FM today (July 7), Will.i.am confirmed that Black Eyed Peas are planning to end their previously indefinite hiatus. Whilst discussing his stint on The Voice UK, the hip-hop star said of the group:

“Yeah…so…yes… There will be a Black Eyed Peas reunion. It breaks my heart that I even have to say that because really we should just always have been doing Black Eyed Peas actually.”

The band had previously confirmed their split after embarking on a farewell tour in 2011.

Realistically, it’s a smart move for all involved. Despite Fergie’s early prominence and Will’s constant presence in the pop sphere, no member has reached the level of success individually that they did as a four piece. The band scored 3 number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, sold an estimated 76 million records and their 2009 smash “I Gotta Feeling” is the most downloaded song of all time on iTunes.
