Why Is Katy Perry Yelling At Us In This New ‘KP4’ Teaser

February 28, 2017 By Jordan Miller

Loud and clear.

Katy Perry, we hear you loud and clear.

Katy is describing her new era as “purposeful pop,” and this supposed snippet from a new song off the album she teased on an Instagram story is a fine example of it.

“I won’t no, I won’t apologize,” she chants sans music. “I will not, will not subscribe. Don’t ask me, ask me to normalize.”

In a recent interview with Capital FM, Perry says she’s “striving for more consciousness than ever” and is using the volatile social and political climate in America as inspiration. “After the election… I was kind of depressed and, you know, I definitely didn’t want to write a club banger,” she said. “I was like, ‘how are we writing a club banger when the world is on fire?’” Sounds like this new teaser is the aftermath.
