Who Ruled The Twitterverse In 2014

Justin Bieber has a lot of fans still(?).

Though JB didn’t release any ground breaking songs or, really, do anything influential in music this year, he remains Twitter’s most talked about.

Twitter released statistics regarding who and what were most popular on their social media platform. So while you’re stoked you gained 1.1K followers this year, Bieber, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift gained millions more.

Stay pressed with me.

Pharrell Williams had the most talked about song of the year for “Happy,” which comes as no surprise considering it bombarded our radio, yoga classes and old folks homes alike. Other songs that made the Top 10 include Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” and Beyonce’s “Drunk In Love.”

Speaking of Bey, her self-titled album was the most talked about record of the year – thanks to her surprise drop, no doubt.

@BritneySpears saw 6 million+ new followers this year though!

Basically, there were 10 artists who ruled every category.
