Watch Selena Gomez's "The Heart Wants What It Wants" Video

Selena Gomez sulks a bit in her new music video for “The Heart Wants What It Wants.”

Yes, Selena Gomez is releasing a Greatest Hits album called “For You,” and you know what? You go Glen Coco! Get that tracklist.

The song to promote the compilation is her track about Justin Bieber called “The Heart Wants What It Wants.”

“Everybody wants to form their own opinions anyway,” she told Ryan Seacrest about the duo’s relationship. “I think the biggest problem I had this year — even with [Justin] and on his side — is identity. I was trying to figure out what I’m doing, and that was the first time I was constantly being kicked down for doing that. When I didn’t know, I just wanted to say, ‘This is what I want, this is where I am in my professional life, things changed in my personal life, things changed in my heart — everything.’ And people just thought, ‘Alright, this is what we think.’ And yeah, I made some decisions that weren’t great as well, and so did he and that’s why we went through all that to only make us better. And he has heard [the song] and he has seen the video, and it’s something that I feel like girls need hear, and it’s something I’m willing to share with people.”

She opens the video with what sounds like a voicemail or an intimate one-on-one convo about her heartache with the Biebs.

“They taped the mic underneath the table when I was shooting the video,” Selena said about emotional video. “And I had shot the video over a year ago. So, in that state — where I was in that place emotionally — I went in and I went into the room by myself, and I looked at the actual mirror in the music video, and I had a conversation [with] myself to every question I had in my mind in that moment: ‘Wow, this feeling changes everything and you can’t help it.'”

In the vid, she says:

“When I was on stage and I was thinking of… I know him though, and I know his heart. I didn’t realize that I’m feeling so confident and so great about myself and then it just be completely shattered by one thing by something so stupid.”

At first I thought it was pathetic she’s writing a song defending her stance loving Justin Bieber, but I digress – I think it’s pretty brave to wear her heart on her sleeve and bare it all.
