I thought Lenny Kravitz’s version was untouchable, but leave it to Kelly to top it.

The Meaning Of Life singer recorded her version to promote Paramount Network’s upcoming American Woman series (based on the childhood of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Kyle Richards, starring Alicia Silverstone).

“I was pretty excited when Paramount came to me with the idea of cutting ‘American Woman’ … And I got to see the whole trailer for it and the vibe for it, which I love,” Clarkson said of the recording. “I kinda got together with Jason Halbert, the producer of the song, and we wanted to create this moody kind of vibe.”

The track begins with a gospel-inspired intro before lunging into electric guitars and Kelly’s untouchable, powerful vocals. I love her so much (deep cries).
