Australian singer announces album title & more tour dates.

The YouTuber’s star continues to rise with confirmation of new album Blue Neighbourhood, due December 4.

20-year-old Troye Sivan looks set to dominate the pop world in the next few years, if his current career trajectory is anything to go by.

In the space of a year, Troye has launched himself into pop culture consciousness, even catching the attention of Taylor Swift. Socially, he is breaking new ground as one of a string of successful LGBTQIA pop stars currently revolutionizing the music industry.

Pretty impressive for someone without an album out, right? Well that’s about to change too, because Troye announced the title of his debut album earlier today on Twitter:

Troye described the meaning behind the title to Radio 1’s Zane Lowe:

“I come from Perth which is a moderately sized city of two million people and from within that I come from a really small Jewish community.” “I feel like I’ve had this really sheltered, perfect suburban upbringing and so all of these stories, all of the songs that I’ve witten, come from that place to me and take place in that context of this blue neighbourhood. “So it’s not necessarily this bad thing but it’s the mundaneness of it, but it’s where your truth is … and how badly you want to get out, but how nice it is at the same time”

Sivan also announced a string of mini-tour dates, confirming two upcoming dates in Perth and Sydney and a few others in Europe, before he heads overseas to start his first US tour.

Blue Neighbourhood is available for pre-order on iTunes now.
