Travis Mills Describes T.I. Collaboration "Young & Stupid": BreatheHeavy Exclusive

Travis Mills might be young, but he isn’t stupid.

Mills collaborated with rapper T.I. on his recent song “Young & Stupid” from his upcoming record. Mills tells BreatheHeavy at the iHeartRadio music festival he wants people to relax and know we’ve all had one of those nights.

“When someone wakes up in the morning, like ‘what the hell did I do last night,’ I want them to put on ‘Young & Stupid’ and just feel like everything’s gonna be ok, because we’ve all been there,” he tells BreatheHeavy. “What I love about it too is I sampled a kazoo which I feel like a lot of people haven’t done in a really long time,” he says with a sigh of relief.”

The 26-year-old adds, “We took something so cheap and minuscule and made it cool. And yeah the beat… as soon as I heard it I was like ‘I have to record this song.’ I just hope people have fun listening to it the same way I did.”

As for who else Mills wants to work with aside from Tip, Mills confirms he’s collaborated with Travis Barker on the album.

He’s been a “childhood influence/hero/inspiration to me,” Mills gushes in a separate interview to Billboard. “He’s one of the reasons why I started making music. He’s playing drums on a song which I’m very excited about.”
