Pop babe Britney Spears will attempt to convince critics she can laugh at her own high-profile personal mistakes — by mocking her own wedding in an upcoming video.
The 22-year old pop superstar, who is currently planning her nuptials to dancer Kevin Federline, is plotting to poke fun at her wild ways in the eagerly anticipated promo for her cover of Bobby Brown’s eighties hit My Prerogative.
“She wants to answer her critics and show people that she can do what she wants. Some of the ideas include a wedding scene, which will either be at the end of the video as a flashback,” said a friend of Spears.
“It’ll either be a Kevin lookalike, or be a mock-up of her wedding to Jason Alexander.”
Spears shocked her fans by marrying childhood friend Alexander in a spontaneous ceremony in Las Vegas earlier this year. The marriage was annulled 55 hours later.
Sources say Spears’ record label, Jive, is spending $7.2 million to market and promote the music video into a “happening, rather than just a pop video.”
“Everyone’s going to remember where they were when they first saw it.”
