Tinashe don’t want no dra-mama.

Tinashe don’t want no dra-mama.

Unfortunately, that’s not an option. The pop star’s new Offset-assisted song “No Drama” premiered at midnight on Wednesday, but hours before it hit a scandal swarmed the Internet. Her Migos buddy spit a verse on YFN Lucci‘s song “Boss Life,” and on it he rapped, “I cannot vibe with queers.”

That’s obviously problematic for many reasons. And, it’s horrendous timing for T, who has a large gay following, to feature an artist who continually proves to be a bigot and overall pile of garbage.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, “No Drama” is a slinky up-tempo bop. I’m always here for Urbanashe, and she delivered.

“Don’t want no drama-ma / We pulled up in that ooh la la / And backed out in that oh my god,” T sings over a trap beat and brooding production. It’s ferocious. But don’t let the joint fool you! Upon first listen I was mildly impressed, but a couple of plays later it really gained gravity.

In the Stephen Garnett-directed video, T and her backup dancer buddies go for a cruise down an abandoned desert highway. There’s some slick choreography and major sass. It’s a proper return to the scene.

Check out the track below. We’ll share the video embed once it becomes available:
