Koma tells BH, “Tiësto is one of my favorite people I’ve met through music.”

Big Room Remix.

Matthew Koma’s autobiographical new tune “Hard To Love” tackles a metaphorical battle against his own crippling self-doubt, but employs playful lyrics to soften the blow. The original was co-produced by Louis The Child (The Chainsmokers’ “Closer”), but a monstrous remix by Grammy Award winning producer Tiësto elevates it to something else entirely (the two previously collaborated together on Tiësto’s 2014 hit “Wasted”). The DJ played the club-ready mix at his Ultra festival set over the weekend, and now it’s on the Internet for your listening pleasure.

Of the remix, Koma tells BreatheHeavy: “Tiësto is one of my favorite people I’ve met through music and any time we have an excuse to work together, we do,” he says. “He was excited about my new music and texted me about how much he loved ‘Hard To Love.’ We were actually working on a new song for him and he surprised me with this.”

A new remix for now, and a new song for later? What’s not to love?

He added, “?? to the King Mento.” Listen:
