This New Britney Spears Megamix Will Make Your Palms Sweat

April 28, 2016 By Jordan Miller

It’s a perfect throwback to refresh our memory how influential Britney really is.

With all this coverage of Lemonade, you may have forgotten (doubtful) Britney Spears has an album out soon.

Beyonce might be in the limelight right now, but Britney Spears has an impending studio album in the works that could drop in the next two months. According to the rumors, her lead single is titled “Make Me (Oooh),” is produced by BURNS and could premiere two days before her hush-hush Billboard Music Awards performance.

There’s a lot to keep track of… like her possible collaborations with Nicki Minaj, G-Eazy, Max Martin protégé CJ Baran and Meghan Trainor.

While we spin our head around wondering what’s what, take a walk down memory lane with this magical mashup by remix prodigy Country Club Martini Crew. It utilizes some of Brit’s biggest hits, including “Circus,” “Me Against The Music,” “Slave,” “Piece Of Me,” “Gimme More” and “Work *****” spliced in with glimpses of other famous fan-favorites (“Break The Ice,” “Ooh La La”).

“That was something I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time now,” Lucas of CCMC tells via email. “The Chris Cox Megamix is probably one of the best – if not the best – megamixes I’ve heard and Britney has released more than enough material since then for a ‘part 2’, and I thought it would be a good time to put it out now that we’re all waiting for the new music. Originally this was supposed to be a sequel of sorts, comprising of songs post-My Prerogative only, but as I worked on it it just felt wrong to leave songs like ‘Toxic’, ‘Baby One More Time’ and ‘Slave’ out of it. It’s gone through a billion revisions since then – different sequencing, songs that didn’t make the cut at the last minute, etc – until I had a mix that flowed smoothly without feeling lengthy or tiresome, and yet could reflect all of her many eras, both music and visually-wise, in under 5 minutes.”
