Equal doll **********.

The Pussycat Dolls are planning a reunion tour 10 years after announcing their hiatus. It will reportedly include the original members, including (don’t call her the) lead singer, Nicole Scherzinger. However, a new report from The Sun suggests the ladies don’t want Nicole to steal the spotlight like she did in the past. However, it’s really not up to her now is it?

“Before they took a break in 2009, Nicole had become the lead singer of the group. It felt natural at the time but now they’re starting planning the tour, some of the girls have demanded Nicole take a back seat,” an ~insider~ tells the site.

“In the old days Nicole became the stand-out star next to Melody Thornton, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta. But for the reunion, the women want it to be more of a level playing field.”

Interestingly, they add that Melody’s camp (she has her own camp?!), is working hard to iron out the kinks before they embark on the lucrative tour.

“They don’t want anyone to feel sidelined, as it’s supposed to be a celebration of the group as a whole. Nicole has been totally laid back about the entire thing and wants all the girls to shine in their own right.”

In other words, Nicole is like “lolol k.”

  1. This is bull… PCD has ALWAYS been Nicole + the rest of the girls. Any PCD fan who fights that is lying. There’s a reason we all liked the group the way it always was; that is, with Nicole leagind the pack at the center of the stage. And she is way too big and talented to take a back seat; it’s ridiculous to think otherwise. And who said we will like having solos or whatever from the other girls? Then make a new group; same members but with a different name and concept. But stop with this already, it got tired. AND RELEASE NEW MUSIC OR YOU’RE UST PLAYING WITH US.

Yes, the girls are stars, but Nicole was always the lead doll. I loved how they gave solo songs to rest of the girls, because without them PCD is not PCD, and hoped that they get more presence in singing too. But they fell apart >.< Solo efforts of the rest of the girls weren't good, even though, f.e., Jessica Sutta had some interesting stuff. I guess it would been better for them to stick with PCD than fall apart. We all know now, that Nicole struggled those years, but now she has grown and seems confident, she must have changed, the insider bs seems not taking this into account.
I hope they give us new music y.y

  3. I think the other girls just want a voice… it’s fine that Nicole is the lead singer… but like, let the other girls have a verse. Hell, just let all 2340934 girls in the member share one verse together.

  4. I hope they do some new songs too. Doing a tour with the old ones… they not going to shine again… From 2012: Nicole Scherzinger has claimed that she sang “95%” of the Pussycat Dolls vocals on her own.
“I love those girls, they’re like my sisters, but people don’t even know the story,” Scherzinger said. “They have no idea. I was in the centre because I was singing. I was the one singing.”
“I never really talked about it, but I’ll never forget I finished the album PCD and [producer] Ron [Fair] and I brought the girls into the studio and we played it for them, and it was the first time they’d ever heard the music,” she said.

“Do you understand what I’m saying? We played the album for the Pussycat Dolls. It was the first time they’d ever heard the songs.”

Fair also verified Scherzinger’s account, saying: “Melody sang a bit here and there but the records were Nicole, with the exception of an occasional ad lib. They were Nicole. They were created with her.”

  5. How can they do that? All their songs have been framed for Nicole to take lead. Unless they come up with a lot of new material where they can each share verses. But restructuring PCD greatest hits so they can sing a couple more lines and be equal… meh. No. It won’t work. Because it won’t sound the same. I mean, we’re all down for equal opportunity but let’s face it. We loved all those songs and have grown used to hearing Nicole mostly on all the songs, it’s gonna throw us all off if we hear Melody sing “every boy’s the same since up in the seventh grade”. I’m not saying they’re not good singers but it’s not gonna sound good just cause we’re not used to hearing someone else sing those lines. Its like listening to covers.

  6. I think they shouldn’t change their PCD recipe much. Beautiful women, who perform with passion and a lead singer, with great abilities. I also think, the should replace Melody. I can’t recollect any great vocal performances from her. Plus she always seemed pissed and bitchy about not being the star. In case she improved, go for it gurl!

  7. The world fell in love with Nicole and the Adlibs, and I think they should stick with that winning formula. Plus, each girl had a solo on the Doll ********** Deluxe Album….. its the first and last time I want to hear any of them solo (except maybe Melody because Space was a bop)

  8. I thought PCD had good songs, but like obviously Nicole was the defacto member and that was it. That never made any sense to begin with, and it doesn’t now. So like it would be nice for the other girls to sing, but like the group was never that. In a day and age where woman are using their voices to speak up on important issues, and being treated equally. To me, it’s wack that they wouldn’t be given any additional chance to shine, at least vocally on a reunion tour, but also like hello just let them ******* sing on a chorus all together like a realllllll girl group.
