“Paris” and “Break Up Every Night.”
The Chainsmokers make their SNL debut.
Alex and Drew typically get the party started. Their music lights up clubs and music festivals around the world, so when the Grammy Award winners performed on Saturday Night Live, they switched things up.
The duo couldn’t rely on laser lights, fog and drunk people to embellish in the music, so they dressed in casual clothes and chose two songs off their recently released album Memories … Do Not Open to showcase their talents. That included a performance of “Paris” featuring vocalist Emily Warren, and “Break Up Every Night,” an electro-tinged tune we’re still getting familiar with.
I think Saturday Night Live is an odd platform for EDM stars still, but it just goes to show how it’s become an alternative form of mainstream pop music made for the masses. Watch below then stream Memories here.
