Taylor Swift’s New Album ‘Reputation’ Is “More Emotionally Complex” Than ‘1989’September 25, 2017
Let the games begin.
Taylor Swift’s new record has some bite to it.
Aside from some behind-the-scenes footage from the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video, the pop star has been virtually unseen for months. She’s letting the music do the talking (one of the rumored lyrics of the album title track is “There will be no further explanation. There will just be reputation.”).
It’s a 180 from the very personal touch that made 1989 so relatable, but according to a source via Rolling Stone, Reputation is her most mature project to-date. They describe it as “lyrically sharper and more emotionally complex than 1989.”
That description makes complete sense. Swift appears to, now more than ever, know exactly what she wants to say (or not).
