Taylor Swift offered Sugarland a song she crafted for Red, and it’s finally out.

This is a refreshing change of pace from the Reputation bangers. Sugarland’s new song, “Babe,” was originally created with Train singer Patrick Monahan for Tay Tay’s 2012 record, but she decided to leave it on the cutting room floor. When Taylor heard Sugarland was making a new record, the pop star graciously offered it to them.

“[Taylor] said, ‘I have a song, would you like to do it?’ And we said, ‘Uh, yeah!’ I was a little anxious, Kristian Bush tells ET about how the collaboration came about. “I didn’t want to mess it up!” Not that it was a throwaway. “She loved it and wanted [us] to be a part of it, which is exciting,” Jennifer Nettles added. “She said, ‘I have a song,’ and we said, ‘OK. Send it over.’”

It’s sugary sweet gem and a reminder that Taylor is a seriously talented songwriter. Yup, it’s about an experience with an ex-boyfriend. We love a relatable tune.
