Taylor Swift casually revealed the album title track is her next release.
The Teen Choice Awards took place on Sunday (August 11) and starred appearances and performances from youngsters that I have never heard of. Not because they aren’t relevant, but because I am in my 30s. However, there was one big name that the teens were getting exposed to.
Swift was awarded with the Teen Choice Award Icon award. It featured an airbrush portrait of her cats – known as the itty bitty pretty kitty committee. I have to stan.
The singer’s acceptance speech gave props to National Woman Soccer League player, Alex Morgan, for her stance on gender equality and equal pay. Swift also gushed over her cats then thanked fans for their unwavering support.
“Thank you for giving me the life that I have. Every single minute of every day, I know that you’re the reason that I have the life I have and that I get to do what I love doing,” Swift said.
“Sometimes you think if you can try hard enough, make every decision perfectly, you think you can possibly like ace life and never make any mistakes. It’s normal to make mistakes and I just want to let you know that if you’re out there being really hard on yourself right now for something that’s happened or messing up or feeling embarrassed… it’s normal. That’s what’s going to happen to you in life, no one gets through unscathed, we’re all going to have a few scratches on us. So just please be kind to yourselves and stand up for yourself.”
Taylor revealed “Lover” is the next release, out August 16, before the album arrives on the 23rd.
