UPDATED: Australian Swifties are treated to a special Taylor show.

Taylor Swift meets and performs for Australian fans on Hamilton Island.

It’s been eight months since the 1989 World Tour kicked off and it’s clear the Swift machine is beginning to slow down as she prepares for her 2016 hiatus.

Taylor’s been keeping a low profile lately, largely disappearing for most of November and keeping social media updates to a bare minimum. On her official Tumblr, she addressed Australian press speculation she’d be flying her entire girl squad Down Under to celebrate her birthday. The 25-year-old quipped “Aussie press, I love your enthusiasm but…it’ll be a quiet one this year. Let’s take it down a notch:)”. Oh and she also banned a news team from reporting about her on Hamilton Island.

The current low key approach continues as she wraps up her world tour in Australia, heading to tropical tourist destination Hamilton Island to perform at radio station Nova 100’s Red Room (think the Aussie version of the Live Lounge).

A select group of competition winners were lucky enough to be treated to a small acoustic set (Blank Space, Out Of The Woods, Wildest Dreams and Shake It Off) then got to take selfies with Swift after the show:

She surprised fans waiting outside the venue too:

Footage of the performances has now been released:
