Taylor Swift will beam the Reputation Tour to Netflix on New Year’s Day.
Swift is usually pretty good about keeping her projects under lock and key, but fans attending her last several tour dates last month caught wind of the project and started immediately spreading the Netflix rumor like wildfire. I guess the multiple rigs, rotating million dollar cameras and Netflix crew in attendance were also indicators.
Taylor Swift Reputation Stadium Tour, the movie, premieres on Netflix on New Year’s Eve at 12:00 a.m. PT on Dec. 31. I just cancelled all NYE plans.
Taylor’s tour openers, Charli XCX and Camila Cabello, will also appear in it.
“Today I finally get to show you something we’ve been working on for a while,” Swift said. “The trailer for the Reputation Stadium Tour!”
The Reputation Tour marks North America’s highest-grossing tour with $266.1 million and 2,068,399 tickets.
It typically takes an artist at least six months to a year to release a tour movie (or in Madonna’s case several years), so the fact that Taylor’s doing it in a month and some change is undeniably savvy. We live in an instant gratification age where sooner is usually better. A business queen.
