Swifties have a serious bone to pick with Taylor.
She’s paying her Ed Sheeran & Future-assisted banger “End Game” some serious dust. Instead of setting her sights on releasing that as the next Reputation single, the pop star is breathing new life into “…Ready For It?”
A few weeks ago Taylor dropped the Bloodpop remix on us. On it, the producer strips out the original’s fury for something tropical and light. Usually I hate that, but it just goes to show how strong Swift’s songwriting is; the lyrics pair nicely to a fiery beat or something sweet. It kind of feels unnecessary, but “Ready” is my most-played song on Spotify this year so I am contractually obligated to limit any complaints I might have.
As if the re-working wasn’t enough, Swift uploaded a lyric video for it onto her official YouTube channel. In a few hours the remix racked up several hundred thousand plays, because of course it did.
Reputation is a pop masterpiece, so it’s confusing why she’d want to extend the single’s reign with projects like this. Perhaps she wants to milk each release until it’s bone dry to extend this era for as long as possible, which I’m not mad at.
In case you don’t know the words to “Ready” yet, here’s the lyric video for the Bloodpop remix I’ve been blabbing about:
