Meghan Trainor is set to receive ASCAP’s Vanguard Award at the PRO’s upcoming Pop Music Awards on May 18.
The honor recognizes influential songwriters that help shape American music.
“From the moment we heard Meghan’s music, we knew she was a talent to be reckoned with,” said ASCAP president Paul Williams. “Her fresh, undeniable pop instincts have taken her to the top of the charts and we could not be more thrilled to celebrate her success.”
Billboard points out her many music-related accomplishments:
Trainor’s sophomore album, 2016’s Thank You, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, her second straight top three release, while single “No” became her third top five Billboard Hot 100 hit, reaching No. 3 in April of last year.
