Music’s biggest names – and Prince’s close friends – tribute the late legend.

The 2016 BET Awards was the second significant awards show to tribute Prince, who died suddenly on April 21. In 2010, he was honoured with BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

The emotional tribute closed the show, featurinf Prince’s drummer and one-time fiancee Sheila E, as well as a host of A-list performers, many of whom knew Prince personally:

The tribute ended with Sheila E raising one of Prince’s famous guitars in the air, while surrounded by his friends and collaborators, and as purple flowers rained down on the audience:
