Simon Cowell Suggested Jason Become ConservatorApril 12, 2012
Britney’s nearly signed onto X Factor, and it’s because Simon Cowell suggested Jason become a co-conservator so he could ensure Britney follows the terms of the contract, reports RadarOnline.com.
“Simon is very excited about Britney joining the show. However, it’s important to remember that she is still under a conservatorship and the last thing her father wants to do is be on the set for hours at a time. Jamie has conservatorship of Britney’s finances and personal life,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. “Jamie just isn’t comfortable in that world but her fiancé, Jason Trawick is, because he is a respected Hollywood agent.
“Simon and Britney’s camp agreed it would be a good idea to have Jason petition the court to become a co-conservator of Britney’s personal life but he isn’t seeking to get involved in her finances. Jason is also very excited for Britney to join the show. There were also insurance complications because Britney is under a conservatorship, but those issues have been worked out because it’s expected that the judge will grant Jason’s petition.”
I might just be labeled the crazy fan who ~doesn’t truly know what goes on in Britney’s inner circle,~ but I’m still allowed an opinion, and from the outside looking in I think this is a huge huge mistake involving Jason in the conservatorship. Why was this decision made based on work where she’ll receive $15 million? Why is she allowed to be spontaneous on a major television show, but can’t legally make decisions for herself? How does Simon Cowell have ANY say in the conservatorship? If it’s just for legal reasons to hide her from other lawsuits than it’s corrupt! Let this girl be free already! Maybe she doesn’t care about being in the conservatorship, but it’s because she’s had no choice but to give up and cope with it. I think it’s sad that it’s been over four years and she’s lost even more freedom. This is being done for insurance reasons? To make sure Britney complies to the contract? Sad, sad, sad.
