Shawn Mendes Sings About International Infatuation In “Lost In Japan”: Listen

Serenade us, king.

Serenade us, king.

Shawn dropped back-to-back songs this week. The first taste of his third studio album came with the pop-rock-tinged “In My Blood.” A day later, the singer unleashed “Lost In Japan” on us. Think Frank Ocean meets John Mayer meets a Shawn Mendes in love.

“All it’d take is one flight / We’d be in the same time zone,” Shawn sings over the laid-back production crafted by Louis Bell, Nate Mercereau and Teddy Geiger (“In My Blood”). There’s some elevator music sounding teas, but in a good way. “Looking through your timeline / Seeing all the rainbows, I got an idea / And I know that it sounds crazy / I just wanna see ya.”
