Shakira Seduces Maluma In The “Chantaje” Music Video MalumaNovember 18, 2016
Tu eres puro, puro chantaje.
UPDATE // NOVEMBER 18:
Shakira and Maluma’s anticipated new music video for “Chantaje” off the Colombian singer’s forthcoming album has finally arrived.
In the Jaume De La Iguana-directed clip, Shakira lures Maluma through different scenarios, allowing him brief glimpses of her gyrating around before eventually letting him catch up.
On another note, congratulations are in order for Shak. She and Carlos Vives’ “La Bicicleta” took home two of the top prizes of the night at the Latin Grammys: song and record of the year.
UPDATE // NOVEMBER 16:
Shakira seductively stares at the camera while getting doused in water throughout the entire lyric video for her Malum-assisted song “Chantaje,” and while the concept is inherently boring, it works. Who doesn’t wanna watch one of the hottest pop stars on the planet get wet in slow motion? Exactly.
UPDATE // OCTOBER 27:
Following Shakira’s recent hit with Carlos Vives on “La Bicicleta,” which she‘ll perform at the AMAs, is her new duet with Maluma. The song is titled “Chantaje,” which means “Blackmail” in English.
The pair teamed up with producers Kevin Jimenez, Chan “El Genio” and Kenai for the track, which boasts a fiery Latin beat and infectious background vocals and breathy vocals from the Colombian singer who coos “pretty boy” at the end, aimed at her very handsome “Chantaje” collaborator.
Tu eres puro, puro chantaje / Puro, puro chantaje / Siempre es a tu manera,” they sing. “Yo te quiero aunque no quieras / Tu eres puro chantaje.”
UPDATE // OCTOBER 25: Shakira’s new song with Maluma is officially titled “Chantaje,” which translates to “Blackmail” in English.

UPDATE // SEPTEMBER 12:
Shakira’s next studio album is underway with help from Maluma.
The pop star is currently crafting a followup to her 2014 self-titled album, and while we don’t know about her eleventh LP, its shaping up to be one of her best, boasting collaborations from MAGIC! frontman Nasri Atweh, Grammy Award winning producer Supa Dups and Colombian singer-songwriter Maluma.
Shakira posted a photo of her and Maluma together with the caption: “Prepárense para lo que estamos cocinando aquí en el estudio” on Instagram, which, according to Google Translate, means they’re cooking up something together in the studio.
Maluma also shared a couple snaps:
The “Try Everything” singer told reporters in November of last year she plans to record throughout 2016, and clearly she’s following through.
“Once I start working on new music, which will be soon. I think by the end of this year, beginning of the next, I’ll start working my new album in the studio, recording and producing new songs,” she said. “I know I will be completely busy as the process of making an album is like a whirlwind that absorbs you.”
