Shakira can no longer attend the AMAs or the Latin Grammys “due to personal matters.”


UPDATE // NOVEMBER 7: Due to personal reasons, Shakira has cancelled her performance at the upcoming American Music Awards, as well as her appearance at the Latin Grammys.

“Due to personal matters, I won’t be able to travel to Las Vegas & LA to attend the @LatinGRAMMYs or the @AMAs this year,” she said.

Shakira was set to perform “La Bicicleta” with Carlos Vives.


Shakira and Carlos Vives will cruise into the AMAs with a performance of their song “La Bicicleta.”

Shakira is readying her new song “Chantaje” featuring Maluma, but she’s taking the stage at the American Music Awards to perform her previous duet with Vives, the Colombian pop star confirms.

She joins previously announced acts Bruno Mars, Green Day, twenty one pilots, Sting, The Chainsmokers and Fifth Harmony.
