Selena's Hologram Is Not Creepy Or Weird, Says Sister

The Hollywood Walk Of Fame is getting major pop acts, new and old, added to the boulevard.

The Walk of Fame Selection Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced on Tuesday (June 28) more than a dozen new famous acts who are set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. In the music category, Clarence Avant, Jerry Goldsmith, Hall & Oates, Ice Cube, John Legend, *NSYNC, New Edition and Selena Quintanilla will nab the honor.

“The Walk of Fame Selection Committee is thrilled to announce our newest honorees to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Committee looked carefully at each nominee and we feel that we have selected a great group of talent that will appeal to the tastes of many fans around the world,” stated Producer and Walk of Famer Vin Di Bona. “As a Walk of Famer myself, I know these honorees will look back at the day of their ceremony and remember it with fond memories shared with family and friends, and of course, the fans. We look forward to their big day as the Walk of Fame Class of 2017 become part of Hollywood history on this famous Walk,” he added.

There’s certainly no chance *NSYNC will use the moment to promote a tour, but the same can’t be said for Selena.

A hologram version of the Queen of Tejano, billed “Selena The One,” is currently in the works.

Selena The One will collaborate with current (alive) artists creating new songs together before taking them on tour in 2018. Selena’s sister Suzette declined to divulge any new details about upcoming songs, but she did say last year “it’s about being able to see Selena sing again, for example, doing the ‘Dreaming of You’ music video and it’s her.”

She added: “it’s not about replacing Selena in any shape, way or form; it’s just something to help her legacy continue growing.”

The only way we’ll see *NSYNC on stage again is probably also through hologram.
