As the entertainment industry reels from Christina Grimmie’s murder, Selena Gomez tributes her friend.

During her Revival Tour concert in Miami, the 23-year-old took a moment to talk about the relationship between herself and Grimmie, who supported her on tour back in 2011.

“I think it’s not about a religion and it’s not about good deeds. I think she just had faith and I don’t really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this song to her.”

Barely holding back tears, Gomez expressed heartbreak and confusion before dedicating the song ‘Transfiguration’ to the singer:

Orlando police today identified Grimmie’s killer as a 27-year-old man who travelled to Florida from another city, armed with two guns and a knife. He did not know Grimmie personally.
