“I Can’t Get Enough” fails to pack a punch.
Selena’s forthcoming album has been finished for a while, but life got in the way and stopped the pop star from releasing it. It’s not clear when the LP drops, but she’s releasing new music in the time being.
She lands on a new song titled “I Can’t Get Enough” with J Balvin and producers Benny Blanco and Tainy (stream below). The two-and-a-half minute track is an uninspired, mid-tempo tropical bop. It definitely has the makings to become a club hit if remixed properly, but I’m not impressed. It’s “Taki Taki’s” young and clumsy step-sister. I’m not sure I’ve convinced you to give it a stream, but see for yourself:
There’s also a music video for the track on the way.
Selena was recently spotted leaving a recording studio, meaning more new music is most definitely in the works.
More than a year ago, Gomez told Harper’s Bazaar her album “has been forever in the making.”
“When people ask me why, I’m honest about it: It’s because I haven’t been ready. I mean, point-blank, I don’t feel confident enough in where my music is yet,” she said at the time. “If that takes 10 years, then it takes 10 years. I don’t care. Right now I just want to be super intentional with all of the things I’m doing.”
In August 2018, she confirmed it was “done,” but later backtracked.
“Well… my favorite song is ‘Rare.’ It’s beautiful,” she said. “I can’t wait for you guys to hear it… I’m so anxious. I just want to play my music and it sounds really fun. I’m not done, but I’m basically done.”
We’ll have to wait a bit longer for the solo songs, but for now I’m going to pass on “Enough.”
