Sam Smith's Month Got A Whole Lot Better, Lands On Rolling Stone

Sam Smith is crying all the way to the cover of Rolling Stone.

Sure, Sam Smith broke up with his boyfriend, labeled fat and ~gay looking~ by Howard Stern (meanwhile he looks like Cousin It let’s be real) and lost a lawsuit, but he isn’t letting all that hullabaloo stand in his way. Just some of it.

“I just want to lose weight for the Grammys, if I’m honest,” the “Stay With Me” singer says in his new interview with Rolling Stone. “I’m just very body-conscious. Sometimes I’m really proud that I don’t look like other pop stars. But there’s also moments where I’m like, ‘Ugh, I wish I had abs like Bieber.'”

Someone slap him.

“I prefer food to music and ***… and my family.”

Slap him again.

Because he’s quote-on-quote “bigger” than said male pop stars, he gets compared to Adele – who’s quote-on-quote “bigger” than her female counterparts.

“We’re very different, and I feel like the constant comparisons might piss her off.” He adds, “It just annoys me that people can’t digest two pop stars singing really personal songs who don’t look like normal pop stars.”

Is comparing Sam Smith to Adele a thing? Besides the surface-level obvious, they are two entirely different artists. Unfortunately, he didn’t stop the negative thinking there… if he wins a Grammy it’d be undeserved and would hand it off to Beyonce like it’s a baton.

“She deserves it way more than I do,” he says. “I’d be embarrassed if I got it over her. If I got it, I’d give it to her.”

No, sweetie. Wait for Kanye West to run on stage and grab it from you instead.

Someone send him “The Secret.”
