Sam Smith upset Little Monsters Sunday night when he took home the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 2016 Oscars for “Writing’s On The Wall” from the James Bond movie Spectre. He also upset himself.

Ahead of the big win, Smith performed the song on stage and offered one of the most boring, drawn out and off-key performances of the night. But as StereoGum points out, at least he knows he it was terrible.

“It was the worst moment of my life. Singing was horrible. I hated every minute.”
