The “1989” conquest rages on.

Ryan Adams Covers Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood"

Rocker Ryan Adams continues his quest to perform Taylor Swift’s “1989” in its entirety.

Adams wasn’t kidding when he said he planned on covering Swift’s record-breaking “1989” album, which saw an enthusiastic approval from Swift, saying “Is this true??????? I WILL PASS OUT. Cool I’m not gonna be able to sleep tonight or ever again and I’m going to celebrate today every year as a holiday. I’M CALM.”. When Adams announced his idea, he shared a teaser of “Welcome To New York”. Days later, he shared his take on “Out Of The Woods” and “All You Had To Do Was Stay,” then this past weekend posted his performance of Taylor’s iconic “Bad Blood,” describing it as “unreal.”

“This is me and @totally_tod playin a chimney guitar coda. Gonna sound so good w strings,” he added.

As BreatheHeavy mentioned before, we’re a bit shocked Taylor is playing it this cool – her control over how “1989” is handled has been a point of contention in the music industry after she barred it from appearing on Spotify before writing an open letter to Apple Music saying she was withholding it from them as well. That all changed after Apple publicly responded to her request artists get paid during their three month trial period, though her grip on one of the biggest albums in the last 10 years remains firm. If we see Adams on stage with her in the coming weeks, we’ll know all is well. And if not…
