Britney Spears’ Instagram account was the medium for Russian hackers to communicate malware to one another, reports Business Insider.
The suspected hackers are known as Turla, an expert hacking group that is believed to have ties with the Russian government. They’ve reportedly targeted foreign governments, militaries, educational institutions and more.
The comment has since been removed, but the post in question was left by user asmith215 in February, who wrote “#2hot make loved to her, uupss #Hot #X.” Da fuq? Apparently the message contains a cryptic message that makes up part of a bit.ly link which leads to “a command-and-control (C&C) server—giving it instructions on what to do and retrieve stolen data.”
WHO HAS THE TIME?
A Slovakian security firm discovered the happening first. They believe it was a test of sorts, because the link was accessed less than two dozen times.
If you see any other comments on Britney’s Instagram posts besides ‘LEGEND!’ and ‘QUEEN!’… beware.
