We bring unfortunate news.
Robin Thicke’s father, actor Alan Thicke, died of a heart attack on Tuesday (Dec. 13).
Best known for his role on ‘80s ABC sitcom Growing Pains, Thicke was reportedly playing a game of hockey with his teenage son Carter when he felt chest pains.
TMZ reports ambulances rushed him to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center and was later pronounced dead.
Speaking to the L.A. Times, Robin called his father “the greatest man I ever met” and “always a gentleman.”
The “Blurred Lines” singer also said one of the last things Alan said was complimenting his younger son on a good shot.
“I saw him a few days ago and told him how much I loved and respected him,” he added.
Gloria, mom to Robin, 39, and his brother Brennan, 41, told Us Weekly: “Thank you for your kindness concerning Alan Thicke’s passing. It is a shock. We were all just together for Thanksgiving,” the singer and Days of Our Lives said. “He was talented, funny and deeply devoted to his family. Rest In Peace, dear one.”
