Rita Ora shares new song, “Cashmere.”
We’re days away from Rita Ora’s new album, Phoenix, hitting the stream waves (Nov. 23), so the pop star decided to treat listeners with one of the new cuts ahead of the big day.
It’s titled “Cashmere,” a sultry, pulsating mid-tempo bedroom banger about a mischievously planned randevú (Rita purposefully leaves behind her cashmere sweater at a lover’s place knowing she’ll need to make another trip to eventually retrieve it).
“Cashmere, left it lying by your bed / It’s the color red, how could I forget?,” Rita croons over slink production cooked up by watt, John Ryan and Julian Bunetta. “Cashmere, last night we made such a mess / I knew when I left I’d see you again / So what if I did it on purpose? / So what? Yeah, I did it on purpose / Cashmere (Cashmere), left it lying by your bed / I knew when I left I’d see you again.”
We love manipulation in the name of love.
