Take A Bow: Rihanna Reportedly Turned Down Playing The Super Bowl Halftime Show

October 18, 2018 By Jordan Miller

Rihanna declined playing next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show in support of Colin Kaepernick.

I’m a tad irritated with Rihanna. She chose not to play Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show because she has integrity, and now we’re left with Maroon 5. Life’s unfair.

Rih turned down the offer because she “supports Colin Kaepernick,” a source tells Us Weekly.

“The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta,” the insider said.

“They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”

In 2016, Kaepernick took a knee during the national anthem to protest the injustices the African American community faces. It ultimately lead to his dismissal from the organization (though the NFL adamantly denies this).

How are we supposed to watch Maroon 5 and Cardi bounce around on stage knowing it should’ve been Rih?
