Timbaland may or may not be involved.

Accountant slayer Rihanna and Disney star Zendaya have recorded a song together called “89 Hours.” We’re confused too.

Music engineer Phil Tan joined Twitter 24 hours ago and has already got the Navy going wild after he commented on the previously factitious track “89 Hours,” revealing details of the unlikely collaboration we never knew we wanted to hear.

Tan has worked with the Bajan beauty on several of her hits including “SOS,” “What’s My Name,” “We Found Love” and “Diamonds” so he makes for a very reliable source.

Despite initially saying that it’s “too early” to comment on the rumoured collab, he went on to confirm that “89 Hours” is “not electro-pop” nor is it produced by Timbaland.

However, if British rapper Naya Dionne is to be believed, Rihanna was back in the studio with Zendaya two days ago (July 13) with Timbaland, Diane Warren and newcomer Tink.

While I’m very confused at the link-up between Rihanna and Zendaya (who?) the prospect of Timbaland producing for R8 is very exciting. Surprisingly, the pair have only collaborated once before for the “Good Girl Gone Bad” single “Rehab” back in 2008.

Although, don’t expect to hear whatever they’re cooking up for a while.

“***** Better Have My Money” producer Deputy recently said that the singer is still very much in the recording process and working without any scheduled release date.

Despite releasing three singles since January, it becomes more evident every day that Rihanna will not let us hear this record until she thinks it’s perfect – and fair enough.
