Rihanna Featuring Florence + The Machine?

Where would we be without #R8 speculation?

The answer is nowhere.

The agonizing wait for new music from serial vacation taker, Rihanna, continues as she moves through the preliminary stages of kickstarting a new era.

Just today, a new song titled “A Night” was registered and, as the writing credits show, there’s a chance it might feature Florence Welch, whose name is one of the featured songwriters.

There’s a lot of potential for a major smasha here. Picture Rihanna serving “Diamonds” vocals and Florence belting her “Cosmic Love” best and a number one hit for this post-Chandelier pop era could be on the cards. Both their vocal styles make innovative music independently, so the thought of them teaming up for Rih’s upcoming installment has us feeling all warm inside.

There’s speculation the song, co-written by Rihanna, samples Florence + The Machine’s “Only If For A Night.”

This collaboration is just one of many rumored to appear on Rihanna’s next studio album. She possibly has a song with Sam Smith, maybe Ne-Yo, Kanye West, perhaps Timbaland but definitely not one with Calvin Harris and Tinashe.

Are you here for a song with Rihanna and Florence Welch?
