Radiohead’s Uploads Dramatic James Bond ‘Spectre’ Theme Song

December 25, 2015 By Jordan Miller

Sam Smith ultimately released the movie’s theme song, but we prefer Radiohead’s to be honest.

Radiohead’s Yorke. Thom Yorke. Posted the band’s unreleased James Bond ‘Spectre’ theme song.

When Sam Smith unveiled his underwhelming ‘Spectre‘ track, fans of the movies were generally left unimpressed. Leave it to Radiohead to overshadow the film’s official release with their own – a song titled “Spectre,” that was left on the cutting room floor… until now.

Yorke uploaded the song to the band’s SoundCloud page and is available to download for free. He wrote:

“Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for the Bond movie Spectre.

Yes we were. It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much. As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it.

Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.”

The song captures Radiohead’s moody tone with a sweeping cinematic climax that we prefer over Smith’s melancholy, dare we say boring effort.
