Race Played A Hand In Rihanna’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Cancellation?

November 4, 2015 By Jordan Miller

Rihanna doesn’t play.

Rihanna claimed she backed out of her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show performance to focus on ANTi.

That’s what we were told anyhow, but word on the street suggests Rihanna pulled out for an entirely different reason.

Model Jourdan Dunn, who was set to walk in the show, had to unexpectedly pull out from the event, and it appears it wasn’t her decision. Dunn posted a now-deleted Tweet out of frustration, saying “Feeling so much better about not doing BS… sorry I mean VS now that Rihanna isn’t doing it also.”

Replacing her is Kylie Jenner, who confirmed the news via Instagram, saying “the best birthday present EVER! always been one of my biggest dreams to be on this catwalk. @victoriassecret ‘s newest recruits. oh and I get to do it with my best friend.”

The last-minute change might be the reason Rihanna had a change of heart. Someone posted up the tea on Instagram that’s now making the rounds in the Navy. We can’t confirm or deny the allegations, but it did seem a bit odd Rihanna cancelled to focus on finalizing ANTi.

The post said, “The real tea about Rihanna her sudden cancellation of the VS gig has nothing to do with her album. She’s done many other less high profile shows this past month. She cancelled because VS replaced black supermodel Jourdan Dunn with Kendall Jenner last minute and Jourdan was very upset about it. Rihanna and Jourdan are cool so she declined the appearance as a show of support. Kendall didn’t even have to audition… Now I love me some Kenny but come on son. This is foul on every level. Respect for Rih has tripled because of this decision #blacktopmodelsmatter #substanceoverhype”

True @badgalriri?

We’re sure Victoria’s Secret will adamantly deny these claims, but mad props to Rihanna if it’s true. Unfortunately, we’ll never know.
