It appears Rihanna has plans to release two new albums.

Rolling Stone published a huge report about Rihanna’s forthcoming dancehall album. In it, one of the producers low-key confirmed Rih’s plans to release two different records (the other being a pop album).

“Their whole thing was, ‘Yo, we’re gonna make this [album] real dancehall, [real] Caribbean,’” says the producer.

“Rihanna is Bajan, so let’s make this a full project like that. To me, it hasn’t been going that way. They’re kind of mixing it up, putting in the pop. If the reggae artists and producers won’t get the chance on the pop album, at least let us survive on the dancehall album. They’re changing up the direction continuously.”

Rih is reportedly moving to Sony for the dual album release.

Metro doubles down on singer-songwriter Elijah Blake’s claims that Riri is working on two new records simultaneously. They claim one is chock-full of radio friendly bops – the other is a little more dangerous.

“Rihanna wasn’t happy with how her last album performed – even though she loved how it turned out, she knows she needs a new project full of smash hits to avoid two back-to-back flops,” said a source, “She’s currently recording two albums – one full of chart-friendly songs, and another made up of moody and experimental tracks – and is considering releasing a double disc if she feels the songs won’t mesh well on the same album.”

They add: “Rihanna knows she hasn’t had a hit as big as Umbrella [which was released in 2007] in a while, and is determined to change that with this album.”
