Last week, early predictions and tallies claimed Pentatonix sold more pure album units than Demi Lovato, however it was thought because her streaming count was considerably higher that her numbers would edge out Pentatonix for No. 1. We were waiting for a confirmation from Billboard, and today that clearance claims despite her success in streaming, Pentatonix are the winners.

They sold 88,000 in pure album sales which puts them at No. 1. In total, the group moved 98,000 equivalent album units.

Lovato’s Confident record debuts at No. 2 with 77,000 in pure album sales, and also 98,000 units total.

Lovato still has reason to celebrate. She announced her North American co-headlining tour alongside Nick Jonas today (Oct. 26).
