Iggy Azalea’s comeback is in full swing.
After months of trying to release the Digital Distortion album, Iggy gave up and scrapped the entire thing. Her previous label, Def Jam, didn’t offer much support. Needless to say, the summer was a bit of a nightmare for the Australian rapper, that’s why she appropriately renamed her new album Surviving The Summer. Iggy announced the name change then dropped four new songs that would probably never have seen the light of day if she hadn’t purged them onto the Internet. Listen to them here.
She also teased new Surviving The Summer lyrics. Her latest gift? A sample of some of her new music. Fans suspect it’s titled “Oh My God,” which makes sense considering she says it eight times in the clip (I counted).
The track sounds like a bop, but overall it’s just OK. I think it’s safe to assume “OMG” won’t make her new album seeing as she’s teasing it on social media, and that’s wise; Iggy is going to have a real uphill battle to stake her claim again. Songs like this won’t do the trick (Justice for “Mo Bounce”).
