Not only does Normani have collaborations with Missy Elliott, The Monsters and the Strangerz, Sarah Aarons, Sailor Heart, Victoria Monét and Ester Dean, but the singer taps Sam Smith for new music(!!!).
Normani’s management, S10, shared a photo of them together and captioned it, “Studio vibes.”
Soon after, producer Sam’s frequent collaborator, Jimmy Napes, followed Normani.
This album is shaping up to be pretty epic! Fight me.
A lot has changed since Normani first opened up about her solo music. Fifth Harmony has officially disbanded (for now) so the girls can focus on their own individual careers.
Normani opened up about her new record, and it’s got some crazy talent on it.
“I’m working on my first full-length album. I’m the beginning stages, still,” she told Beats 1 radio on Monday (March 26). “I’ve gotten the chance to work with The Stereotypes, I’m going to be in with the The Monsters and the Strangerz, Sarah Aarons, Sailor Heart, Victoria Monét, Ester [Dean]… I’m getting in with her very soon, too, so I’m excited.”
We don’t know too much about how it will sound, but it’ll touch on her journey through stardom.
“Honestly, I feel like I’ve experienced a lot in the last six years, so I feel like just getting all of that out. Whatever comes to mind, whatever I’m going through at the moment, I just want this to be an album that completely represents who Normani is, and for some people, it may be the first time.”
EARLIER // FEBRUARY 14:
It’s been an interesting day for Fifth Harmony fans. There’s reason to believe the group is disbanding after it was announced the ladies abruptly cancelled the Australian leg of their tour due to ~scheduling conflicts~. Read more about that debauchery here.
At the same time, Normani dropped a song with Khalid titled “Love Lies.” Listen to it here.
Upon its release, the singer had a chat with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe and opened up about her forthcoming solo album.
She says it’s the first time fans will get to see her authentic self and confirmed it’s already 30% done.
Sure, there’s a lot left to go, but we went from not knowing she had a solo album in the works (half truth) to one that exists and is nearly a third finished.
“Love Lies” is going to light up the charts, so I’m very intrigued to see what Normani does next.
