From rap veteran to rap’s reigning queen
Event airs on December 7
There’s no doubt that Nicki Minaj is hip hop royalty, and it looks like the femcee is about to get honored by someone that’s equally regarded in the rap community. On Friday (November 13), it was announced that Queen Latifah will present the Young Money honey with an honor at the VH1 Big In 2015 With Entertainment Weekly event.
According to a press release, “Nicki Minaj will be presented with the ‘Big In 2015’ honor by Oscar and Emmy Award-nominated actress and Hip Hop icon, Queen Latifah. Minaj and the other honorees will be celebrated that evening by the people who know them best.” Minaj joins fellow traillazers Taraji P. Henson, Amy Schumer, the Straight Outta Compton cast (O’Shea Jackson, Jr., Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell) and Elizabeth Banks on the honoree roster list.
Additional appearances will be announced after the show tapes on Sunday at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. VH1 Big In 2015 With Entertainment Weekly premieres on December 7 at 9 p.m. EST on VH1.
2015’s treated Nicki pretty well. Earlier this year, she kicked off her worldwide Pinkprint Tour, broke a major Billboard record, announced a forthcoming ABC Family series about her life, teamed up with The Weeknd and took home the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the 2015 BET Awards … for the sixth year in a row, mind you. Clap it up for Nicki.
