New Music Friday: Carrie Underwood, Meghan Trainor, Kanye West, Noah Cyrus, Kiiara And More

Happy New Music Friday September 7, 2018!

Happy New Music Friday September 7, 2018!

On Fridays, music lovers are inundated with new songs and videos. Instead of posting about each item individually (they’ll get lost in the shuffle anyway), we figured a roundup would be best. Here’s this week’s New Music Friday highlights:

Sigala, Ella Eyre, Meghan Trainor ft. French Montana – “Just Got Paid” (Lyric Video)

I have never related to anything more. Sigala, Ella Eyre, Meghan Trainor and French Montana team up together on new song “Just Got Paid.” The track details living a champagne lifestyle on a root beer budget. “I should grow up some day / Cause I got bills to pay,” Ella sings. Meghan doubles down: “And it feels like every day’s a holiday / So I can take my check to the bank / And I know, know, know I should be worried / But I work, work, work to the bone, baby.” Friday is payday, and I KNOW y’all can relate.

Steve Aoki, Nicky Romero & Kiiara – “Be Somebody” (Song)

The summer pool parties are winding down, but EDM will live forever. Super producer Steve Aoki tapped Nicky Romero and singer Kiiara for new song, “Be Somebody,” an electro-tinged, uptempo bop about being an independent badass. This is for all the lonely hearts out there:

Noah Cyrus & Gallant – “Mad At You” (Song)

Just in case you’ve been out living your life like a normal person and not paying mind to petty drama, Noah Cyrus was dating rapper Lil Xan, but they broke up. Why? Noah texted Lil Xan an edit of Charlie Puth’s face onto a beefy naked guy and it was all downhill from there (I’m telling you the truth. This really happened). They both started publicly accusing each other of cheating and that’s as deep as I chose to go down that rabbit hole. It was “well timed.” Noah has a new song out now titled “Mad At You” with Gallant – a track supposedly about her fallout with Lil Xan. “You love me. You need me. And this aint so easy, believe me,” she sings. We love clever PR.

Kanye West, Lil Pump & Adele Givens – “I Love It” (Music Video)

My oh my how far Kanye West has fallen this year. I can’t decide if his latest release, “I Love It,” is pure garbage or a bop. It’s a little bit of both (the production is good at least), but keep this song away from me and we’ll be good. Here are two lyrics worth mentioning because they are so poetic: “You’re such a f–kin ho. I love it.” “I’m a sick f–k I like a quick f–k.” You’ve been warned:

Carrie Underwood – “End Up With You” (Song)

The country superstar offered fans a new taste of her forthcoming album, Cry Pretty (out Sep. 14). “End Up With You” is a tantalizing, romantic love song that leans more towards pop than country. “And we could end up broke down on some back road,” she sings over a sugary guitar melody. “Lovin’ in the back seat to the radio / Wouldn’t be the worst scenario / ‘Cause all I wanna do is end up with you.” I’m not crying are you crying?

Shout-out to Jessie Reyez’s “F–k Being Friends.”
