Happy New Music Friday: October 12th edition.

On Fridays, music lovers are inundated with new songs and videos. Instead of posting about each item individually (the laziness is real), we figured a roundup would be best. Here’s this week’s New Music Friday highlights:

Ashlee + Evan (EP)

Ashlee Simpson is recording a pop-rock solo album right now(!!!), but before we get our hands on it, the singer put out a new body of work (a round of warm, feel-good anthems tbh) with her husband, Evan Ross. On it, Ashlee and Evan flex their songwriting skills, especially on gleaming tracks like “Paris” and “I Want You.” This is a prime example where two is better than one:

Sigala, Meghan Trainor, Ella Eyre – “Just Got Paid” Featuring French Montana (Music Video)

It’s Friday A.K.A. Pay Day! To celebrate, give the “Just Got Paid” video a spin. In the clip for Sigala’s disco-tinged track, the artists find themselves celebrating in some pretty unglamorous places, like a laundromat or a convenience store. Hey, life’s all about perspective!

Sia – “I’m Still Here” (Song)

Just when I started to think I haven’t heard a new tune from Sia in a minute, the singer came out with a track titled “I’m Still Here.” The track is another cinematic, larger than life power ballad. No one knows how to make these better than Sia. Fight me.

Shawn Mendes & Teddy<3 – “Under Pressure” (Song Cover)

I never knew I needed a cover of Queen’s 1981 hit “Under Pressure” from Shawn Mendes until now. He teamed up with frequent collaborator Teddy Geiger for it. Shawn shows off his soaring falsetto like his life depended on it. A pleasant surprise:

Bad Bunny & Drake – “Mia” (Music Video)

All you need to know is Drake sings in Spanish, and this will most definitely top the charts and stay there til 2019. Bookmark me.

Poppy – “Fashion After All” (Song)

Poppy annoyed a lot of BreatheHeavy readers with her subtle Britney shade the other day, but there’s no denying she makes good music. We’ll forgive her and move on, just as long as she keeps making bops like “Fashion After All.”

Usher & Zaytoven – A (Album)

Usher just surprise-released a joint album titled A with Zaytoven. The eight-track LP features Future and Gunna.

Happy New Music Friday!
