New Music Friday: Cher, The Chainsmokers, Justice, Noah Cyrus, MØ And More
Happy New Music Friday: September 21, 2018!
On Fridays, music lovers are inundated with new songs and videos. Instead of posting about each item individually (yay efficiency), we figured a roundup would be best. Here’s this week’s New Music Friday highlights:
Cher – “One Of Us” (Song)
Cher’s ABBA reign won’t let up. The iconic singer just released her latest Dancing Queen cover, this time with “One Of Us.” Her larger-than-life vocals melt over an orchestral background, making for quite a cinematic and emotional number. Brb I’m crying.
The Chainsmokers featuring Kelsea Ballerini – “This Feeling” (Song)
The EDM duo return to form in their new song, “This Feeling,” featuring country singer Kelsea Ballerini. It’s got all the best things you’d come to expect from Alex and Drew: a female-driven collab, a catchy chorus and a drop. “This Feeling” is far less depressing than some of their more recent work, so this is a track I can get behind.
MØ – “Imaginary Friend” (Video)
MØ never disappoints. The stream queen just released a new video for “Imaginary Friend,” a breezy, electro mid-tempo that finds the Danish singer contemplating a haunting, romantic existence.
Noah Cyrus featuring LP – “Punches”
Noah just released her new EP, Good Cry, today. Read our interview together here. Spotify is promoting the LP-assisted track, “Punches,” so it could very well be the 18-year-old’s next release. The track is a plunky duet about the pitfalls of a breakup, masked by a happy and frenetic beat. Time heals all wounds, Noah!
Justice – “Love S.O.S.” (Video)
Wow. Justice released a “sexy, strange, and brutal” video for “Love S.O.S.,” and it’s worth your undivided attention. In it, a facially-deformed, finely-crafted body builder x pole dancer rages against the machine. It’s bloody, tantalizing, and soundtracked to an incredibly infectious new tune.
Celine Dion – TBA
Unfortunately, Celine doesn’t have a new tune to bless us with, but she is in the recording studio right now. Patience, fam.
