So many tunes.

Happy New Music Friday: September 14, 2018!

On Fridays, music lovers are inundated with new songs and videos. Instead of posting about each item individually (yay efficiency), we figured a roundup would be best. Here’s this week’s New Music Friday highlights:

Gucci Mane, Bruno Mars, Kodak Black – “Wake Up In The Sky” (Song)

Bruno Mars’s smooth sound soars on Gucci Mane’s new track “Wake Up In The Sky” with Kodak Black. The twinkly rap track faces scrutiny, however. Kodak Black was recently released from prison for probation violation charges, and is currently awaiting trial for sexual assault charges in a separate case. Not even Bruno’s star power can eclipse that rain cloud. Song is super fly, though.

Dolly Parton & Sia – “Here I Am” (Song)

I did not see this coming, but I am so glad it did! Dolly Parton and Sia team up to sing a new rendition of “Here I Am.” The track was originally featured on Parton’s 1971 album, Coat Of Many Colors. The re-working lands on the soundtrack for the upcoming movie Dumplin’, starring Jennifer Aniston and Danielle Macdonald.

David Guetta – (Album)

The super-producer dropped his star-studded album today. It features Justin Bieber, Sia, Anne-Marie, Jason Derulo, Nicki Minaj, Martin Garrix, Saweetie, G-Eazy, Lil Uzi Vert, Mally Mal, Jess Glynn, Stefflon Don, J Balvin, Jack Back and so, so many bangers.

Tori Kelly & Jonathan McReynolds – “Just As Sure” (Song)

Tori just put forth a new gospel album titled Hiding Place – it’s almost exclusively written by gospel legend, Kirk Franklin. The latest single from the record is a smooth, syrupy duet titled “Just As Sure” alongside Jonathan McReynolds. Tori and JM’s vocals melt over sugary guitar melodies and a breezy beat. I hope you’ve got a sweet tooth.

Pale Waves – “One More Time” (Song)

English indie pop band Pale Waves just dropped an ’80s-tinged dance track titled “One More Time.” The nostalgia-infused tune could perfectly soundtrack a scene from The Breakfast Club, and I mean that in the best way possible. Super fun.

Eminem featuring Joyner Lucas – “Lucky You” (Video)

I’m just happy Eminem feels some regret for calling Tyler, The Creator a “fa–ot.”
