Happy New Music Friday!

The #FreeBritney movement has probably taken a toll on your happiness this week, so let’s shift our focus for a moment on the new tunes to recharge.

Becky G & Maluma – “La Respuesta” (Video)

Becky G and Maluma team up for new song, “La Respuesta.” The fiery reggaeton banger has the potential to light up the global charts. There’s also a ’60s-style music video for it in which the two break free from the mundane and explore a life in color. No one is releasing as much music as Becky G or Maluma, so props to them for carving out a minute to create together.

Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj & G-Eazy – “Wobble Up” (Song)

Chris Brown released the third single off his forthcoming album, Indigo. It features Nicki Minaj and G-Eazy. It’s a raunchy, NSFL banger that finds the trio bragging about their sexual swagger. “Wobble on the d–k,” ahh… poetry.

Rita Ora & Kygo – “Carry On” (Video)

Rita Ora and Kygo joined forces to create an EDM-tinged club banger. It lands on the Detective Pikachu soundtrack. “Carry On” can be the theme song for 20-somethings taking molly at the club this summer, or for when Pikachu zaps Charizard in the upcoming flick. I appreciate a song that’s multi-faceted.

Pedro Capó, Farruko & Alicia Keys – “Calma” Remix (Song)

Not to be confused with Daddy Yankee & Katy Perry’s remix of “Con Calma,” Alicia Keys hops on the second remix of Pedro Capó’s “Calma.” The song was a bonafide hit on its own, but reached new heights when Farruko jumped on. Let’s see if lightening can strike again. Keys brings a soulful flare to the tropical bop, which is an unexpectedly pleasant combination.

Dinah Jane – ‘Dinah Jane 1’ (EP)

The former Fifth Harmony singer dropped her first body of work today. It’s a three-track EP that she says is extremely personal. “I’ve put so much thought emotion and time into this mini ‘bundle’ not only for you guys, but for myself. The longer I held on to these records the less of a chance I’d ever bring em to light,” Jane said. “I hand picked these 3 records specifically because this is where my head and heart is rn.”

Shout-out to:

The Weeknd and SZA’s new collab, “Power Is Power.”
